Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Syracuse, Utah is a beautiful little community which has many hidden treasures within its borders. One of these treasures is our Arts Council, its programs, and all the volunteer hours behind them. Please consider adding to our growing Arts community by volunteering your time! There are many ways that you can be utilized and appreciated – without setting foot on a stage!
Are you sitting there wondering where you fit in? Here are some ideas…
Syracuse Symphony- One of the major goals of the symphony is to rehearse and perform the works of the standard orchestral repertoire. To achieve this goal, we seek 70-80 amateur musicians. Any player of any age who can demonstrate a proficiency in their instrument is welcome to join.
The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will be under the direction of Shaun Davis (Director) and Tim Koster (Associate Director). We are still accepting letters of interest for leadership positions including (concertmaster, president, vice chair, secretary, librarian etc…). For rehearsal and performance dates – or further information visit the Orchestra page.
Syracuse Actors Guild – This is an open forum that meets together every other Friday from 8-9 pm at the community center. During these meetings we hope to strengthen and learn from each other. Each month, we address a specific topic as we work to become better actors, technicians, designers and volunteers. In addition to sharing talents within the group, there will be multiple performance opportunities each year. This is open to everyone 16 years and older who wants to learn and improve.
Summer Concert Series- Be a part of our concerts, and enjoy volunteering in beautiful Jensen Nature Park. We need people to come and help with the set-up and take down of the sound system. Please email volunteer@syracuseutaharts.org if you are interested in helping, or for more information check out our Concerts page.
Theatre Committee: We are in need of volunteers who do more than just perform…there is so much more behind the scenes that goes in to each performance. While performances do need an exciting stage presence, the performances wouldn’t happen without all those volunteering on the production staff! It takes a lot to provide costumes, sound, lighting, scenery, and props, as well as ushers, ticketing staff, concessions and much more. If you can’t be a part of our ongoing theatre committee, consider joining the staff of our 2012 summer productions. Please contact us at volunteer@syarcuseutaharts.org with your questions or desire to volunteer!
Syracuse City Arts Council Board: None of these programs would be possible without the direction and countless volunteer hours of the Syracuse City Arts Council board. Without the planning, research and legwork of these individuals, our efforts would not have the structure and financial support needed to function. There are always opportunities and needs for volunteers within this council. If you are interested in a ‘year-round’ position with the Arts Council, email your experience and current interests to volunteer@syracuseutaharts.org
What Else…?
